Remove BaN Ransomware

Overview Of BaN Ransomware

BaN Ransomware is a dangerous type of crypto-malware designed by cybercriminals to encrypt all important files on users' computers. Once infected, this new variant of Xorist employs a powerful encryption algorithm, rendering files completely inaccessible by adding a ".BaN" extension to each affected file name, further locking them. For example, a file named "image.jpg" becomes "image.jpg.BaN". After the encryption process, BaN leaves a ransom note named "How to decrypt FILES.txt." In this note, the attackers inform the victim that all their files are encrypted and demand a ransom of 0.03 Bitcoin for the decryption key. The victim is instructed to send the ransom to the specified Bitcoin address and is then contacted by the attacker via the given email address ([email protected] or [email protected]) using a specific subject line. The ransom note assures the victim that, upon confirmation of payment, they will receive a decryptor and decryption key to regain access to their files.
