What is Krlock Ransomware
Krlock Ransomware is a data locking malware that belongs to MedusaLocker Ransomware Family. Although there is no major modification noticed in the Krlock Ransomware as compared to previous variants, it can cause massive destruction. It uses nasty AES and RSA Encryption techniques that makes the data inaccessible by and large. The files are held hostage and then the platform is set for the hackers to demand ransom from the innocent victims. The demanded ransom is in exchange for a decryption tool which is required to unlock and decrypt the locked data file and to restore them back. It is seen that locked files will have .Krlock as file extension. All the locked files will get appended with this new file extension and as such the renamed file is rendered useless. Suppose the original image file with the name 1.jpg will get renamed to 1.jpg.krlock as file extension. This is all done to encrypt the files of the victims. It is never easy to cope with Krlock Ransomware attacks as one cannot modify the files or rename it to its original extension. This ransomware hit the cyber world in the Wild and is closely similar to other variants of MeduasaLocker Ransomware such as L54 Ransomware.
