What is Maql Ransomware
Maql Ransomware is a dangerous malware that belongs to the DJVU Ransomware family. It encrypts files by appending .maql extension. It encrypts all the files with a ransom note as _readme.txt. If a file name is 1.jpg, it would be modified to 1.jpg.maql. The ransom note informs the victims that their data has been encrypted and it cannot be restored unless they purchase the decryption tool as a unique key to unlock the files. They are further informed that they need to pay the ransom amount to the Maql Ransomware hackers within 72 hours of the attack. It completely depends on the victims as to how quickly they pay the ransom that ranges from $490 to $980. The ransom note further bears the email id of the hackers which is [email protected] or [email protected]. These email id can be used to contact the hackers to know about the instructions on how to pay for the decryption.
