What is ZEUS Ransomware
ZEUS Ransomware is a malicious program that encrypts important files and documents found on the victim’s computer system. Then restricts access to data (documents, images, and videos). It attempts to extort money from victims by asking for ransom in the form of bitcoin cryptocurrency, in exchange for access to data.
ZEUS Ransomware will scan your computer system for images, videos, and other important productivity documents and files such as .doc, .docx, .xls, and .pdf, when these files are detected, and then ZEUS Ransomware will encrypt them and change their extension to four random characters, so the victims are not able to be open them. ZEUS Ransomware is a fake error message displayed by rogue websites. It is very similar to hacking alerts, cyber security warnings, hard disk failures, and several other fake messages. Victims are redirected to this site by several potentially unwanted adware types of programs.
